百富推出88年最老威士忌 1931年蒸馏 全球仅装17瓶
苏格兰百富（The Balvenie）推出品牌有史以来最古老的威士忌——一款88年单一麦芽威士忌，1931年蒸馏装桶，酒精度43.2%，由酿酒大师在2019年装瓶，全球仅17瓶，作为百富1931珍藏系列的核心产品。酿酒大师表示，决定装瓶是基于风味与平衡而非单纯追求酒龄。该酒在西班牙雪莉桶中陈酿88年。
The 43.2% ABV whisky forms the centrepiece of The Balvenie 1931 Collection, which also includes limited edition 12- and 15-year-old expressions.
Bottled in 2019 by McKechnie, just 17 bottles of the 88-year-old whisky exist. It was distilled on 5 March 1931 and filled into European oak Sherry butt #239, sourced from Jerez, Spain, where it remained in The Balvenie’s warehouse for 88 years.
Despite the significance of the age statement, McKechnie said there was no single dramatic moment when the team decided the whisky was ready.
Instead, the cask had been monitored throughout its maturation and sampled periodically.
“We had known this cask was very, very special,” McKechnie told The Spirits Business on a recent press trip to the William Grant & Sons-owned distillery in Dufftown. “So we kept a close eye on it and sampled every couple of years.”
