Australia’s Lark Distilling Co saw its full-year sales rise by double digits, driven by growth in international markets and global travel retail (GTR). Lark’s new flagship range of single malt whiskies were unveiled in January For the year ending 30 June 2026 (FY26), the Tasmania-based whisky producer reported net sales growth of 15.1% to AU$18 million (US$12.8m), after excise. Lark’s performance has varied through the year.

The fourth quarter delivered AU$5m (US$3.5m) of revenue for Lark.

The third quarter was flat, while the first half saw a 10% boost. The business experienced full-year growth across all core channels, including a 69% gain in international export sales to AU$1.8m (US$1.3m) and a 43% GTR rise to AU$2.2m (US$1.56m). Lark is now present in 10 Asian markets, including China where the company completed its first shipment. GTR sales were supported by new outlets at Singapore’s Changi Airport and a flagship fixture at Sydney Airport. Domestic sales increased by 7.2% to AU$13.9m (US$9.9m), while the e-commerce channel grew by 21.5% to AU$3.4m (US$2.4m). Meanwhile, gross profit dipped by 1.7%. Operating earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) decreased by 7.2% due to ‘continued investment in sales, marketing and international expansion to support future revenue growth’. Lark noted that the launch of its new Signature range and GTR-exclusive line in January boosted the company’s sales across every channel this year. During the full year, Lark also commissioned its new Pontville distillery and completed the renovation of its Hobart hospitality venues.

The Pontville facility has consolidated distilling, maturation, blending, cooperage and bottling in one site. Lark targets global stage Stuart Gregor, who joined Lark as CEO at the start of this year, said: “FY26 was the year I believe that Lark truly came of age; we are now absolutely positioned to take Lark to the world. “We can confidently say that we now have the best whiskies and packaging in the New World and it is now up to us to take our whisky from Hobart to the global stage.” Lark’s key priorities for the next financial year (FY27) include growing distribution points across existing and new markets, as well as increasing the rate of sale through product innovations and marketing. In its domestic market, Lark said growth would be supported by expanded distribution of its Signature range through Spirits Platform, alongside continued gains in owned and operated e-commerce and hospitality channels. In GTR, Lark plans to continue its expansion across Asia Pacific.

In terms of export markets, the business will focus on China. The company will also launch its Lark Club loyalty programme over the next 12 months. Lark has a whisky bank of 2.4m litres, which will provide a ‘scalable foundation to underwrite future sales growth’. The company also recognised non-cash adjustments of AU$36.2m (US$25.7m), comprising a AU$20.7m (US$14.7m) goodwill impairment and a AU$15.5m (US$11m) whisky inventory write-down.
